Cybersecurity should be a top priority no matter what business you are in. Today’s technology makes it incredibly easy for law firms to accomplish their goals in a fraction of the time it took 20 years ago. Along with this high level of convenience comes significant risks concerning cybersecurity and outsiders hacking into the firm’s system.

Here are 5 ways to maintain your law firm’s cybersecurity.

    1. Change Passwords Frequently

Change passwords on email accounts and client’s files regularly. When used with an additional layer of security, this is the first step in keeping your data secure.

    2. Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication involves using a password and a pin or verification code. It is mostly a lock that requires two keys to gain access. Having one of the two isn’t enough to get someone into the system. They must produce both factors in a specific amount of time to be able to get into the system.

    3. Backup Your Information Daily

Backup all of the information on your system every day. While most firms perform their system backup in the morning, others choose to do it at night as the last order of business for the day.

    4. Encrypt Your Information

Encrypting the information contained within your system means that only people who have keys to unlock the encryption can gain access. Encryption keys can offer an additional level of security over and above the essential two-factor identification.

    5. Use A Certified Court Reporter You Trust

Aside from the protocols and procedures, you can implement within your firm, it’s essential to use a certified court reporter you can trust. The right court reporter understands the need for both accuracy and complete confidentiality.
