Customer satisfaction is a huge factor if you want to be successful as a court reporter. Part of staying on top of this crucial area of concern is to communicate with clients to find out if you are meeting their expectations.

Here are some processes you can implement to make sure that your customers are satisfied with your court reporting work:
Client Expectations
In order for you to provide the best possible service, you need to pay attention to your client’s preferences. You might already be very familiar with the needs of long term customers based on experience, but sometimes newer business is harder to gauge. That is why you need to take initiative before a deposition and ask as many relevant questions as possible that will lead to insight about what they expect from you.
Deliver On Your Promises
Whenever you are unable to provide the excellent services that you have promised to clients, you run the risk of falling short on their expectations. Examples of these disappointments can include late, sloppy, or inaccurate transcripts. Furthermore, it is always a good idea to let clients know all costs upfront, including rushed assignments or work that involves overtime.
Active Communication
Another proactive move that helps you manage client expectations is to initiate close communication with clients and their team members at every stage of a project. Always keep them up to date on new developments that may lead to setbacks or higher costs so that they are never hit with surprises after the fact.
Customer Satisfaction Surveys
Customer satisfaction surveys can provide valuable feedback. Surveys can also help uncover dissatisfaction that would have otherwise been unknown. Consider regularly sending them surveys through email, mail or when you deliver transcripts. Offering surveys will let them know you care about their needs and expectations.
